Important information about voting, asking a question, and more

To ensure a successful meeting experience, please familiarize yourself with the following items. In the interest of time, they generally will not be repeated at the Annual Meeting.

In-person attendees

The Westin Nova Scotian Hotel

Parking: Overnight guests have access to valet parking with in and out service. Visitors can use the hotel self-park upon availability (no in and out service). The self-park lot can be found at the rear of the hotel. Please have your self-park ticket validated at the hotel front desk to receive a reduced daily rate.

Registration and badge pick up will be open from 12:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. AT in the Commonwealth Foyer, First Floor at The Westin Nova Scotian Hotel.

  • The Annual Meeting will be recorded. Your attendance will constitute consent to potentially appear in this recording.
  • The recording will be available on our website in September.
  • Individuals who ask questions will be identified in the minutes of the Annual Meeting.

A mobile device is required to vote during the Annual Meeting using our CMPA Annual Meeting App.

The CMPA Annual Meeting App has the most up-to-date information for your meeting needs.

Visit https://cmpa-acpm.com/info or use your mobile device to scan the QR code on the back of your name badge to access the App.

For members looking to vote or ask questions, select Login at the top of the screen, and use the User ID and PIN provided on the back of your name badge to log in.

Use the App to:

  • Access online voting during the Annual Meeting (active members only)
  • Ask questions (active members only)
  • View the agenda
  • Find the infant care and nursing room
  • Find supporting materials
  • Complete the post-event evaluation
  • See things to do while in Halifax

  • Voting will be done using the CMPA Annual Meeting App.
  • As per the CMPA’s By-law, only members with active membership on August 14 are permitted to vote on motions.
  • Remember: before you can vote, you must login using your User ID and PIN provided on the back of your name badge, which was provided at Registration when you arrived.

When a vote is open, click ‘Vote Here’ and a voting window will appear on screen:

  • The motion will be visible (EN and FR).
  • We will first seek a mover and a seconder – these buttons will come up on the screen.
  • Once the motion has been moved and seconded, these buttons will no longer be visible.
  • The Chair will ask for comments – you can use the Ask a question button on the App or a microphone stand in the room.
  • Once the discussion portion has concluded, the Chair will call for voting to begin; please vote to Approve, Do not approve, or Abstain.
  • Once you have voted, click the Confirm button.
  • The Chair will advise you when the voting is near to closing.

  • As per the CMPA’s Bylaw, only members with active membership on August 14 are permitted to ask questions on matters of CMPA business.
  • Members can use the Ask a question button on the CMPA Annual Meeting App or a microphone stand in the room.

    • Simultaneous interpretation will be available throughout the Annual Meeting.
    • Please use the headsets provided at your seats to access the interpretation.
    • English members will need to put their headsets on to hear English translations when French is being spoken, and vice versa.

For your privacy and convenience, the dedicated infant care and nursing room is located in the Fundy Room.

  • We will first seek a mover and a seconder – these buttons will come up on the screen
  • Once the motion has been moved and seconded, these buttons will no longer be visible
  • The Chair will ask for comments – use the Ask a question button on your screen
  • Once the discussion portion has concluded, the Chair will call for voting to begin; you will see a voting screen to vote to Approve, Do not approve, or Abstain
  • Once you have voted, click the Submit button, followed by the Confirm button
  • The Chair will advise you when the voting is near to closing.

  • Select the Ask a question button on your screen during the Annual Meeting and follow the prompts. If you receive a reply, a small orange bubble will appear next to the Ask a question button.
