Dr. Sanjeeve Sockanathan is a family medicine physician and clinical assistant professor at the University of Calgary, Alberta. With 20 years of practice following his medical training in the U.K., he brings a wealth of experience to his roles.
Dr. Sockanathan has extensive healthcare system and governance experience, having served as a clinical director for Virgin Health, a board member for the Foothills Primary Care Network, and the medical director for Satori Health. As a preceptor for the residency program in Calgary, he educates medical students both in clinic and on-site at the university. His experience in organizational governance and strategic planning gives him a deep understanding of the complexities of governance across various organizations.
An advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion, Dr. Sockanathan is part of a team of physicians dedicated to supporting and organizing healthcare for the LGBTQ2S+ community, as well as ethnic minority and disadvantaged populations.
