Candidate statement
My name is Yatin Chadha - I am an early to mid career radiologist in Toronto, Ontario and founder of the beyond MD podcast.
My curiosity and desire to grow led me to launch beyond MD almost 5 years ago. The podcast has allowed me to support my colleagues by demystifying financial topics we aren't taught enough about. I have found this to be a deeply rewarding and satisfying experience. As I progress in my career, I am keen to find more avenues to continue supporting my colleagues across the country in a meaningful way. Collaborating with other leaders on the CMPA council would allow me to do this.
Over the last several years, I have passionately supported senior residents in their transition to practice in my role as Director of Radiology Education at North York General Hospital. This role allows me to teach, mentor, and promote safe radiology practice on a weekly basis. I am deeply invested in our future colleagues and I love to see them grow as they prepare for the real world. I believe my teaching efforts align with the CMPA's goal of supporting physicians and promoting safe medical care across Canada.
As a radiologist, I enjoy communicating regularly with my fellow colleagues in different areas, both through clinical rotations and interdisciplinary rounds. This includes emergency medicine, internal medicine, and surgery (to name a few). Our dialogue has given me insight into some of the challenges my colleagues face. I will rely on this experience to be an effective advocate for our physician community.
Through beyond MD and my leadership roles, I have acquired a strong backbone in financial literacy, honed my ability to listen and ask good questions, and have learned the importance of hearing different voices and perspectives. I believe I can bring these skills to council and contribute to the CMPA's mission in a meaningful way.
I believe real impact is made when we use our expertise to benefit others. As physicians, we use our knowledge in health and disease to serve our patients and their families. Our efforts have their greatest impact when we are working with a clear and focused mind. By applying to the CMPA council, I hope to continue giving my very best so that you can continue to give yours.
Thank you for your support.
