Dr. Trudeau is a general surgeon who has been working with the Chicoutimi Hospital team since 1999. He received his medical degree in 1993, and completed his surgical residency in 1998 at the Université de Montréal.
While maintaining a high level of clinical activities, he pursued his medical training to acquire advanced skills in laparoscopy, therapeutic endoscopy, and surgical oncology. These skills allow him to offer state-of-the-art techniques in a region where autonomy of care is paramount. As a clinical professor affiliated with the Université de Sherbrooke and the Université de Montréal, Dr. Trudeau participates in training both medical students doing rotations in surgery and surgical residents. He recently took advanced training in Just Culture in Healthcare.
Dr. Trudeau was Chief of the Division of General Surgery for 10 years before becoming Chief of the Department of Surgery for 4 years in Chicoutimi. An avid user of new technologies, he is co-founder of the Clinique de chirurgie du Saguenay which he has been managing since 2010.
