Dr. Wayne Rosen is a practising colorectal surgeon at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, Alberta. A graduate of Queen's School of Medicine, Dr. Rosen completed his general surgical training in Calgary and colorectal training in Houston, Texas. He is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Calgary.
In addition to playing an active role in the training of surgical residents, Dr. Rosen chaired the undergraduate medical skills course from 2011 to 2024 and co-chaired the bioethics course from 2005-2024 at the Cumming School of Medicine in Calgary. He has received numerous teaching awards in his role as an educator.
Dr. Rosen’s involvement in bioethics is extensive. He has presented nationally and internationally on numerous bioethical topics. In 2019, he co-authored the 4th edition of the popular bioethics textbook, Doing Right: A Practical Guide to Ethics for Medical Trainees and Physicians, with Dr. Philip Hebert.
